The Drum Inn is the only pub Sir Edwin Lutyens ever designed, drawn up in 1934 as the centrepiece of Cockington and opened in 1936. Thatched, with tall chimneys echoing his Cenotaph, it stands beside the country park on the edge of Torquay, and now carries a blue plaque to Lutyens. Open for food and drink; Torquay station is about 1.5km to the east.
