Said to be the oldest licensed pub in Colchester, the Chapel Inn stands on the site of a medieval chapel and has held a licence since 1556. It sits a short walk from the town centre near Colchester Town station, and pours locally brewed cask ale in a low-key, old-fashioned bar.
