Down by the bridge over the Swale at Grinton, the Bridge Inn sits below St Andrew’s church — the so-called ‘Cathedral of the Dales’. It’s popular with walkers, with folk music sessions most Thursday evenings and food and ale for anyone footsore from Swaledale’s paths. Reeth is a mile up the road; the nearest station is a distant Garsdale.
