St Pancras and Islington Cemetery
Open accessfree to visit at any reasonable time
One of north London’s largest cemeteries, St Pancras and Islington opened in 1854 as the first municipal burial ground in London, and has recorded more interments than any other cemetery in the UK — well over 800,000 burials since. It’s free to wander, open daily from around 8.30am, with a pedestrian gate on Coppetts Road and a circular volunteer bus running on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. The Capital Ring passes close by if you want to extend the walk.
