Regent’s Park was laid out in the 1810s and 20s as part of John Nash’s grand scheme for the Prince Regent, and it’s still one of London’s showiest green spaces. Queen Mary’s Gardens, at its centre, holds thousands of roses in summer; London Zoo and the Open Air Theatre both sit inside the park boundary too. Free to walk in any time — pedestrian gates open from 5am and close at dusk. Regent’s Canal runs along the northern edge.
