The centrepiece here is the Great Glasshouse, designed by Foster and Partners and opened in 2000 — a single elliptical dome 110m long, the largest single-span glasshouse in the world, planted out with flora from the Mediterranean climates. The wider garden spreads across the Tywi valley in Carmarthenshire. Open to visitors year-round, though it’s worth checking current times.
