Furzey Gardens is an informal woodland garden in the New Forest at Minstead, first planted by the Dalrymple family in 1922. Around eight acres of azaleas, rhododendrons and other flowering shrubs surround a thatched sixteenth-century cottage, and it’s now run by the Minstead Trust, which supports adults with learning disabilities. Open daily for paid entry. Ashurst New Forest station is about 6km east.
