Burley is a New Forest village where ponies graze right up to the shop doors, and it leans hard into a local witchcraft reputation: the self-styled witch Sybil Leek lived here in the 1950s, and the shops still trade on the theme. It gets busy in summer, with cider, tea rooms and open heath to walk straight onto. Sway station is about 8km to the south-east.
