Mary Benger began Burrow Farm’s garden in 1966 in an old Roman clay pit on the family’s dairy farm, clearing brambles a corner at a time. It has grown into ten acres of woodland, rill and rose plantings folded into the East Devon hills above Dalwood. Paid entry, open through the warmer months. Axminster station is about 5km east.
