The Three Tuns in Bishop’s Castle has held a brewing licence since 1642, about the oldest of any working brewery site in Britain. The tall Victorian tower brewery behind the pub, built around 1888, still brews by gravity — one of only a handful left doing so — and tours end with a tasting in the shop. Bishop’s Castle is a fair way from any station, so most people arrive by car.
