Springbank is the only distillery in Scotland to carry out every stage — malting the barley right through to bottling — under its own roof, on Well Close in Campbeltown. Family-run since 1828 and much loved by whisky people, it’s one of the last survivors of a town that once had over thirty distilleries. Tours are popular and sell out fast, so book well ahead of a visit.
