Campbeltown was once one of the great whisky towns, with dozens of distilleries; Glen Scotia is one of just three that survive. Founded in 1832, it still works away on a back street in the old town, and the Victorian-styled visitor centre runs daily tours and tastings. A good place to taste the distinctive Campbeltown style, which is worth the long drive down the Kintyre peninsula to Campbeltown.
