St Mary’s at Patrixbourne, just outside Canterbury, is a Norman church famous for its richly carved south doorway and a rare wheel window above it — one of only three of its kind in England, along with nearby St Nicholas at Barfreston. It also holds a set of 16th- and 17th-century Swiss stained glass. Usually open daily. Bekesbourne station is under a kilometre to the north.
