Chillenden Windmill is an open-trestle post mill of 1868 — the last of its kind built in Kent, its timber post and cross-trees left open to the weather. Built by Holman’s of Canterbury, it worked until a gale took a sail in 1949, and has been restored since. It stands alone in the fields and is freely viewable. Aylesham station is about 3km to the south-west.
