The Fordwich Arms
Local highlightSet beside the River Stour in Fordwich, reckoned England’s smallest town, this 1930s pub has become a Michelin-starred kitchen under Daniel and Natasha Smith, its oak-panelled dining room warmed by open fires and its terrace open over the water in summer. Kentish farms and growers supply most of the menu. A meal here sits easily alongside a look round Canterbury Cathedral and the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey, both a short way south-west.
