St Andrew stands on the Bere peninsula between the Tamar and Tavy, with its own station a few minutes’ walk off. Sir William de Ferrers rebuilt the church around 1333, and the east window still holds some of its original fourteenth-century glass — among the oldest in Devon after Exeter Cathedral — including a panel of Sir William holding a model of the church. Tudor carved bench ends survive as well. Usually open in daylight hours.
