The Orphir Round Church is the ruined remains of the only surviving medieval round church in Scotland, built by a Norse earl in the 12th century. Only part of the round nave and the small apse still stand. It sits beside the Orkneyinga Saga Centre, which tells the story of the earls of Orkney, and it’s open access and free to wander.
