Fan-vaulted cloisters and the tomb of Edward II.
Nine centuries of building stand in Gloucester Cathedral, from massive Norman pillars to the soaring Gothic of the choir and tower. The fan-vaulted cloister is the showpiece — used as a Hogwarts corridor in the Harry Potter films — and Edward II’s tomb lies close by. Open to visitors most days, with a charge to climb the tower. Gloucester station is a short walk east.
