Tall Victorian warehouses ring a basin of dark water at Gloucester Docks, once the inland hub of the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal trade. The restored buildings now hold museums, shops, bars and a waterside brewery, with narrowboats moored along the quays. Free to wander any time. Gloucester Cathedral and the station are both a short walk away.
