A motte-and-bailey castle once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in Wiltshire. It is one of four motte-and-bailey castles the Albion Guide lists in the county. It sits inside Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs National Landscape.
For more of the same, Knook Castle and Yarnbury camp are close by. The closest station is Warminster, 10.2 km to the north-west.
