Earthworks onlybanks, ditches and platforms — read the ground, not walls
A motte-and-bailey castle once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in West Yorkshire. It is one of three motte-and-bailey castles the Albion Guide maps in the county. Pontefract Baghill Station is under a kilometre away. Nearby castles include Castle Hills settlement and Castle Hill (South Yorkshire).
