Stoke Bruerne
Local highlightCanal village of locks, museum and long tunnel.
Come to Stoke Bruerne for the canal: a flight of locks lifts the Grand Union through the village, with a towpath, moored narrowboats and pubs on both banks. The old corn mill by the top lock is now the Canal Museum, and The Boat Inn has been run by the same family since the 1870s. It’s a short walk from here to the northern mouth of the long Blisworth Tunnel.
