Stogursey is a quiet village on the Quantock fringe near the coast, with the earthwork-ringed ruins of a small moated Norman castle — a gatehouse and round towers, free to look round. The name is a worn-down ‘Stoke Courcy’, after its medieval lords. Bridgwater station is about 12km to the south-east.
