Rosehearty claims to be one of the oldest recorded seaports in Scotland — a small fishing village on the exposed Buchan coast, a few miles west of Fraserburgh. The commercial fishing has largely gone, leaving a quiet harbour and a rocky foreshore that’s pleasant to potter along. Fraserburgh is the nearest place for shops, and there’s no railway anywhere close.
