Robertsbridge is a Rother-valley village with a timber-framed high street and old coaching inns. It has long been a home of cricket-bat making — Gray-Nicolls has its workshop here. The scant ruins of Robertsbridge Abbey lie just outside the village. The station is close at hand, under a kilometre from the high street.
