Hodnet is an estate village of black-and-white cottages gathered below Hodnet Hall. The reason to stop is the Hall’s gardens: more than sixty acres of terraced pools and water gardens dropping away below the Victorian house, planted for colour through the seasons and open to visitors. The village itself is free to wander any time.
