Durisdeer is a tucked-away hill village at the foot of the Well Path, the old drove and pilgrim route over the Lowther Hills. It’s best known for its parish kirk, a handsome Georgian church that shelters the marble Queensberry monument. A peaceful spot, and a fine start for walks up into the hills behind.
