Blair Atholl is an estate village where the River Tilt joins the Garry, gathered at the gates of Blair Castle. The white castle is the seat of Clan Murray and home to the Atholl Highlanders, the only legal private army in Europe; it’s been open to visitors since 1936, with grounds and a deer park to wander. The village has its own station on the Highland main line.
