White turreted seat of the Atholl dukes.
The whitewashed Blair Castle, ancestral seat of the Dukes of Atholl, stands above Blair Atholl in a wide sweep of parkland. The gardens are the draw here: the walled Hercules Garden with its ponds and orchard, and Diana’s Grove, a stand of towering conifers that includes some of the tallest trees in Britain. Castle and grounds open seasonally, with an admission charge; Blair Atholl station is a short walk away.
