The White Cliffs of Dover run east from the town, rising to around 110m of chalk that falls straight to the sea, with France visible across the Channel. The National Trust looks after a clifftop path out from the Langdon Cliffs visitor centre, passing the South Foreland Lighthouse along the way. Parking is pay-and-display at the centre. Dover Priory station is about 2km to the west.
