Ruthin Gaol is a Victorian county prison kept as a museum, where you can walk the cell blocks, step into the punishment cells and the condemned man’s cell, and read the stories of the people locked up here. It’s in the middle of Ruthin, open seasonally with an admission charge. A vivid, slightly grim afternoon, and good on a wet day.
