Loggerheads Country Park fills a steep limestone gorge where the River Alyn runs below Clwydian cliffs, on the edge of Mold. Riverside paths lead past the leats and shafts of old lead mines to the visitor centre and cafe, and in dry spells the river sinks away into its own limestone bed. Open daily, with paid parking. Buckley station is the nearest, roughly 10km east.
