Approximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
Hay Bluff is the steep northern nose of the Black Mountains, a grassy scarp rising abruptly above the Wye valley with wide views towards Hay-on-Wye and the border country. It’s open access land, and a short pull up from the little car park near Gospel Pass brings you onto the ridge. The top is exposed, so save it for clear weather and take a map.
