The largest of the eight white horses still cut into the Wiltshire chalk, high on Milk Hill above the Vale of Pewsey.
This is the largest of the eight white horses that survive on the Wiltshire chalk, cut into Milk Hill in 1812 for a local farmer, Robert Pile. The Ridgeway runs along the top of the down, so you can walk out to it, though the outline only really reads from the vale below. Several of the other horses lie within a short drive across the North Wessex Downs.
