A Roman town once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in Hampshire. It is the only Roman town the Albion Guide charts in the county. The closest station is Bramley (Hants), 3.4 km to the south-east. The nearest other Roman town is Silchester Amphitheatre, 0.7 km to the east.
