St Mary the Virgin, Silchester
St Mary the Virgin sits just inside the Roman walls of Calleva Atrebatum at Silchester, a 13th-century church left out in the fields when the Roman town was abandoned. It pairs well with a walk round the surviving town wall and amphitheatre. Usually open. Bramley station is about 3km south.
