Clayton to Offham Escarpment is one of 56 Sites of Special Scientific Interest in East Sussex. Only three of the county's SSSIs are larger. The surrounding countryside is part of the South Downs National Park.

Cooksbridge Station is about 1.5 km away to the east. For more of the same, Kingston Escarpment & Iford Hill and Wolstonbury Hill are close by.
