The Steam Packet Inn looks out over the little harbour at the Isle of Whithorn, right down at the tip of the Machars peninsula. Seafood landed close by is the draw, and you can eat watching the boats. It’s a fair haul from anywhere, so check seasonal hours before making the trip. A good reward after walking out to St Ninian’s Chapel on the headland.
