Hambleden is an estate village of brick-and-flint cottages in a dry valley above the Thames, and the Stag and Huntsman is its inn, with rooms upstairs. It’s a natural base for walks up onto the surrounding beech hills, and food is served. Henley-on-Thames station is about 5km south-west.
