Regatta town on an elegant Thames reach.
Come the first week of July for the Royal Regatta, when Henley’s straight stretch of the Thames fills with racing eights and the town with striped blazers. The rest of the year it’s a handsome riverside town with a five-arched Georgian bridge, towpath walks and the River & Rowing Museum. Henley has its own branch-line station, a few minutes’ walk from the bridge.
