Walking the best-preserved central stretch of Hadrian’s Wall? The Milecastle Inn is a traditional moorland pub above Haltwhistle, close to Cawfields and its milecastle, and a warm halt for pie and a pint. The Twice Brewed Inn is the other Wall-country pub a few miles east. Haltwhistle station is about 2.5km down in the valley.
