A four-room inn set deep in the Northumberland moors on the Cumbrian border, cooking seasonal county produce with homemade sourdough, house ferments and menus that run from the casual to a ten-course tasting. The Pennine Way passes barely a hundred metres off, making the Kirkstyle a natural table for walkers, with the South Tynedale Railway a short way down the valley to the southeast.
