Johnny and Laura Greenall reopened a boarded-up village inn at Ellastone in 2012, and the Duncombe Arms has since become one of the county’s best-known dining pubs, holding a Michelin Bib Gourmand. It sits above the Dove valley with rooms next door for anyone making a night of it. Uttoxeter is the nearest station, about 10km south.
