Right at the foot of Loch Ness, the Dores Inn is a whitewashed old pub with a beer garden that looks straight down the length of the water. It’s a lovely place for lunch or a drink after a drive along the quiet south side of the loch, and the pebble beach next door is a favourite spot for monster-watchers. Inverness is about a quarter of an hour’s drive north-east.
