Built in 1847 as an ale house with stables, the Coach & Horses at Danehill is an unspoilt free house on the edge of Ashdown Forest, with bare-boarded bars and a well-regarded kitchen using local produce. Haywards Heath is the nearest station, roughly 9km to the south-west.
