A Victorian village schoolhouse turned dining pub, The Cholmondeley Arms keeps its tall vaulted ceilings and adds a gin collection running to hundreds of bottles. It sits opposite the entrance to Cholmondeley Castle Gardens, which makes it a natural lunch stop after a wander round the grounds. There are rooms in the old headmaster’s house across the way if you fancy staying over.
