An eighteenth-century inn with rooms in Donington on Bain, set in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds only yards from the Viking Way. It makes a good base for walkers taking on the long-distance path, with kit space, parking and a cooked breakfast, and does seasonal pub food and changing real ales. There’s no station close by; Market Rasen is roughly 14km to the north-west.
