Thatched and white-walled at the quiet end of Tealby, the King’s Head is reckoned the oldest thatched pub in Lincolnshire. It traces its origins to around 1367, though the mud-and-stud building that survives is listed as seventeenth-century, so treat the older date as tradition rather than gospel. It’s a genuine village local in pretty Wolds country, with a few real ales and home cooking. Market Rasen station is about 5km to the west.
