Glen Coe's walkers' and climbers' inn, in the glen beneath the Aonach Eagach.
A walkers’ and climbers’ institution in the middle of Glen Coe, the Clachaig Inn has been putting up hillgoers for centuries. The bar keeps a huge range of Scottish whiskies and there’s live music at weekends. Look for the old sign reading “No Hawkers or Campbells” — a dark nod to the 1692 Glencoe massacre. It’s off the old Glencoe road, and makes a fine base for the peaks of the Aonach Eagach and Bidean nam Bian.
