Glencoe village sits at the mouth of its famous glen on Loch Leven, forever tied to the 1692 massacre when the MacDonalds were killed by soldiers they had been sheltering. A little folk museum and the nearby National Trust visitor centre fill in the history, and the glen behind is one of the great Highland drives. It’s just off the A82.
